Netflix doesn’t appear to be having the best week when it comes to PR. A couple days ago the company rolled out a redesign, which has been met with overwhelming hostility from users. It’s not completely unanimous, but it’s clear that a lot of people are pissed, and some are saying they’re going to cancel their accounts.

So Netflix users, how do you feel about the issues brought up?

I personally HATE the new layout. It's ugly, and the new scrolling feature is irritating. It's not so bad that I'd want to cancel, but I do hope they change it back. I'm not sure how to feel about them replacing the genres. I like the current system, so I guess it depends on what they do to it. I would like to see a "browse by decade feature" since I've been wanting to watch some 80s movies.

I don't really like the new user interface more--the scrolling is definitely a lot less efficient than before.

Fortunately, for Netflix, the interface only composes a miniscule amount of time I'm using the site, so I can afford to dislike it a little. And it could have been worst. At least I can still use the site okay.

I'm kind of anxious about Genres going away, though, just because I don't have any idea of what it's going to be replaced with. If they do a good job of it, I'll be very happy, as there's a lot of potential for nifty filtering and whatnot, but...I dunno.

After using it more, I hate it when the popovers take a while to show up. It's not infrequent.

I just signed back up for Netflix after several years so I've only every seen the current layout.

I tend to click off instantly by genre or search for an actor - the scrolling is just ugly and has accessibility issues - I'm not sure how well someone with limited mouse movement/control can operate it.

I love the genres and share your concern. If they break it down further like they do on suggestions: horror: visually stunning, and my fave - "goofy independent" then it might be fun.

Otherwise I will need to consider the membership.

I, too, hate the new layout. The biggest pain in the tail is that you cannot get out of the movie view without turning the set completely off....once you "remove film from queue" it sits there staring at you with two options:

"Watch film"
"Add film to queue"
(or words to that effect)

How about "return to queue" you netflix dimwits?
